[MOSTLY] WORDLESS WEDNESDAY - FRIENDS

Cadence and I doing what we do best: pretending to write! Okay, maybe that's just me...
There were a handful of pictures I would like to share, but I prefer asking permission before placing up random pictures of people. While it is generally okay via Facebook, a blog I feel is a bit different considering it’s a lot less private. Cadence (who I met during NaNoWriMo last Nov) was online and sweet enough to allow me to use one of her and I.

Another friend I met during NaNoWriMo is featured in an upcoming documentary about Midwifery. I’ve never heard so much talk about births, babies, and placenta (and what to do with said placenta) since making the friends I have during NaNoWriMo. There is a screening of this movie on Sept. 24th and I’d love to go, but am uncertain I will be able to. I would love to support this documentary, so we will see. A few weeks ago, I asked permission to feature the trailer on my Trailer Tuesday blog series, but never got a reply, so I’m going off the reservation here, because I can't fathom how it wouldn’t be okay.

Thankfully, she found this hilarious...
This is a friend who I barely have any contact with, and it seems that is pretty commonplace with those that have known her for even longer than I. She works a ton, is a student, and is just all around awesome. Maybe I am biased because she is a cosplayer, MtG playing artist, singer of randomness, and overall geek like myself? I dunno. This was officially my first attempt at making a meme, and I thought she was going to kill me. I’ve actually never shared this until now, though she gave me permission to months ago. I honest to God thought when I hadn’t heard a reply back after sharing it with her the first time meant she was contracting out my life.

A little song dedicated to the friends I’ve made (and almost made) throughout the years. Usually I can tell when I’m going to be (or would be) good friends with someone or a group of people. I’m not a very assertive/aggressive individual, though, and it may be unfair to others to leave the leg-work of getting together to them, but I’ve gotten better. Most of it revolves around insecurities and self-love. But, sometimes you can’t help who falls into and/or out of your life, regardless of our hopes and wishes.

Are you Thankful for your friends? Are you knowledgeable about Midwifery? Have you created any Memes? Does “We’re Going to be Friends” remind you of anyone?

  1. It's not just you, as far as the "leg-work" of friendship goes. It seems many, many people are either just too busy or too shy or plain don't even think about contacting someone or a group of someones to get together. Friendships fall away all the time because neither person just picked up the phone (to text, of course. No one dials anymore.)

    Love that song. Always have.

And the thought of you sitting through conversations about birth and placentas cracked me up. If you have any questions, let me know. :)

    1. It's true. A lot of people come and go, and a lot of times it's because no one bothers to make contact. Even then, though, people with separate lives are just busy and have things going on. It's especially hard when it comes to new groups of people.

They are hardcore... discussions on home-births, placentas, breast feeding and yeah...

  2. Love the video. After going through one birth in a hospital, I would NEVER go back. Birth no. 2 was in a birth center, supported by midwives, and I love it. If there's a healthy pregnancy, there's no need for a doctor. The funniest thing was a paramedic telling me that he would never ALLOW his wife to do something crazy like that (I passed out at the post office from low blood pressure; the parameds wanted to take me to the hospital, no thanks!). I feel sorry for his wife.. Glad I have a supportive hubby.

    1. Interesting... what was so bad about the hospital? I mean, don't get me wrong... I dislike them as much as the next, but was there anything specific?

It seems to be a point of constant controversy. One I do my best to stay out of being I lac any real knowledge on either end of the spectrum.

Glad your hubby supported your decisions, though!

  3. Like Christine said, if you have any questions about birth and placentas, by all means, just ask Christine. I don't know nothin' about birthin' babies. Mine came out the trapdoor.

I love that song! My son's 5th grade teacher made a dvd of pictures from their year, and that was one of the songs she used on it.

Aaand, are you really writing, or is it just an excuse to eat?

    1. Hahaha noted, Dyanne! You know how to make em, just not push em out.

That sounds like it would be a really cute video. I honestly don't think I came across the song until recently.

Not sure if that is my food, but I definitely pretend to write more than I actually write at that bar lol
